Data and tips for 6-letter words

Wordly's 6-letter list has 29,907 words accepted as guesses and 3,832 that can be the answer of the day. The letters that show up most in the answers are E (65%), R (45%), S (43%), A (43%), I (34%), N (32%), with the percentage of answers containing each one in parentheses. About 50% of the answers repeat at least one letter. The most common first letters are S, C, B and the most common last letters are S, E, D. Words that test many frequent letters at once make good openers, such as ARISEN, SATIRE, SERIAL.

With 6 letters there is room for common endings such as -ED, -ER or -LY. Once you find the consonants, think about the ending and where the vowels sit.
